Nan’s Child Care Centre is a long established centre in a homely environment, designed to maximise both indoor and outdoor environments for children. pace.We want your child to feel safe, happy, relaxed and comfortable where they can make a mess, explore, play in the large natural playgrounds and make lasting friendships while enjoying the learning environment during their important early years.
Nan's Child Care Centre Rooms
- Monday — Friday 7:00 am — 6:00pm
- (Closed Public Holidays only it between Christmas and New Year)
- Boronia Babies: birth to walking
- Ragged Blossoms: walking to 2 years (approx.)
- Cuddlepies: 2 years to 2.5 years (approx.)
- Snugglepots: 2.5 years to 3 years
- Possums: 3 years to 4 years
- Gumnuts: 4 years to 5 years
Meals are provided for all children from 6 months of age.
Our children enjoy programs designed to ensure that each child’s strengths are valued as they are introduced to an exciting range of experiences to assist them to grow in confidence of self and develop inquiry into the many areas of learning that will assist them on their life journey with a love of learning.
The foundations on which our practices are built rely on the principles of respect, responsibility, and community through exploration and discovery. Our educators provide a supportive and enriching environment based on the interests of the children through a child-centred framework, that meets the individual needs of each child.
Children at Nan’s are valued and respected by their peers and educators and our high standard of care and safety ensures that each child has a strong sense of belonging.
Our educators assist children to become successful learners by encouraging their play based learning and offering developmental opportunities across a range of activities and environments. These environments provide for play areas and experiences for children to create, imagine, problem solve, explore, test, challenge themselves and create at their own pace.
Our professional team of teachers engage with the children and monitor children’s reactions to the environment and with each other; staff join in with individuals and groups as needed and gently talk through any issues that arise, helping each child to problem solve to reach a solution.
Educators provoke children’s thinking by providing ideas and tools to further their interest and knowledge.
Food provided at Nan’s is of extremely high quality and we cook only with fresh produce. The variety of meals provided recognises the need for the child’s food requirements to be met for the hours that they are at the centre.
Our mealtimes are relaxed, enjoyable experiences and the aroma of foods from all around the world coming from the kitchen provides a welcoming, homelike environment. Our kitchen provides for children with allergies and cultural requirements as directed by medical experts and families.
Families are welcome to become involved in the program and encouraged to share their culture and home language with the children in the service. Our families represent diverse nationalities and this brings a richness to the service. All children are encouraged to support each child’s communication methods.
A seamless and calm transition between the centre and home is a result of families and the service working collaboratively to ensure that children are happy and feel secure.
